San Diego Labor Day 2009

This weekend, I drove down to San Diego in order to visit Sea World and Coronado.

The Coronado Bay Bridge connects San Diego to the island of Coronado.

The Hotel Coronado is upscale and caters to an obviously wealthy clientele. However, they let passing tourists wander around for free and explore their lovely property. They make it up by charging you $5 for chai lattes and $9 for sundaes.

It was a long day that began at 5 am and ended at 9.30 pm. I think we crammed 2 days of sight seeing and travel into one. It's a good thing I have the rest of today and tomorrow to relax!

On my way back today morning, I stopped by a Starbucks at Cardiff-by-the-Sea. All the exits on I-5 before and after this city have Latin American names; the two exits for Cardiff-by-the-Sea are named Manchester & Birmingham. It was a typical Californian beach town except for the English street names.

It brings back so many memories! Remember how we sat with a couple of American kids in a small auto-like thing...and it was so hot!
Fun!
